The promise of Abraham has passed to Isaac. God reiterates the promise to Isaac by stating that He will be with Isaac. God protects His promise to Isaac through Isaac's own sin, and the persecution of the Philistines. Isaac is pushed further and further away from Gerar, but even in a famine, Isaac is blessed and prospers.
